NeverStrip Vinyl Seal – Advanced Resilient Floor Treatment

NeverStrip Vinyl Seal is a fast-drying, durable and easy-to-maintain floor treatment designed for resilient flooring. Unlike conventional acrylic floor finishes or “wax,” Vinyl Seal uses advanced inorganic micron-based technology to create an ultra-thin, clear protective film that provides long-lasting performance with less maintenance.

Surface Preparation

1. Thoroughly clean the floor and remove all existing floor finish.

2. Ensure the surface is completely dry before application.

3. Protect all surfaces that are not intended to be coated using suitable tape or plastic.

4. Ensure the floor is free from dirt, dust and other contaminants before proceeding.

Application Instructions

Vinyl Seal is a single-component, ready-to-use product. No mixing is required and there is no pot life.

1. Shake the product thoroughly before application.

2. Use a high-quality looped microfiber pad.

3. Wet the microfiber pad with product. Do not soak the pad or allow it to remain dry.

4. Apply Vinyl Seal using one of the following methods:

   • Microfiber pad: Apply product to the pad and spread evenly over a section of approximately 1.62 m² (180 cm × 90 cm).

   • Ribbon application: Apply a ribbon of product onto the floor across the width of the section and spread evenly.

   • Backpack applicator: Apply a bead across the section using a backpack applicator and spread evenly with the microfiber pad.

5. Apply the product in a very thin, even film.

6. Allow each application to dry before applying subsequent coats.

Important Application Guidelines

Do not over-apply the product. Do not overwork the product.

Vinyl Seal is designed to be applied much thinner than conventional floor finishes. The product dries rapidly, and the microfiber pad should glide easily across the floor.

If the microfiber pad begins to drag, this may indicate that too much product is being applied and can result in streaking or an uneven appearance.

Typical coverage is 98–123 m²/L per application, depending on:

• Floor porosity

• Application technique

• The individual applying the product

Vinyl Seal naturally produces a medium or satin sheen.

Enhancing the Sheen

Burnishing can be used to increase the sheen of Vinyl Seal.

For higher gloss levels, Vinyl Seal can be applied over NeverStrip Micron Primer or compatible higher-sheen NeverStrip coatings.

Options for achieving a higher gloss include:

Option 1: Apply two coats of NeverStrip Micron Primer, burnish as recommended, then apply two coats of Vinyl Seal, burnishing after each application.

Option 2: Apply NeverStrip Vinyl Seal over compatible NeverStrip Gloss or NeverStrip UV Gloss coatings.

Burnishing after each application can produce a higher sheen, with higher-speed burnishing generally producing greater gloss.

A 175 RPM floor machine can also be used to enhance the sheen, although it will generally produce less gloss than a higher-speed burnisher.

Compatible burnishing pad options include:

Cleaning & Maintenance

To maintain the appearance and performance of Vinyl Seal:

• Avoid cleaners containing butyl compounds.

• Do not use citric-based cleaners containing d-limonene.

• Follow recommended floor-care procedures to preserve the coating and minimise the need for recoating.

Clean-Up
